URGENT NEEDS

There are particular items we have a constant and consistent need for distribution to refugee families. They include:

-Twin, Full, and Queen-Sized Beds: Box spring, frame and mattress

-New pillows and pillowcases

-Laundry detergent

-Dish soap & sponges

-Kitchen and bathroom waste baskets

-Household cleaning supplies

-Lamps and light bulbs

-Microwaves

-Radio/Stereo

-Computers/Laptops (Pentium 3 or greater)

***NOTE: Due to limited storage space, we cannot accept the following items: sleeper sofas, large electronics (washer, dryer, etc), or anything that requires assembly. Due to strict state department regulations, we can only accept items in very good or excellent condition. Thank you for your understanding!

Because we rely on the kindness of volunteers to collect our furniture donations, we are only able to take items in the Arlington area. Pick-ups are scheduled during business hours on an as-needed basis. Please call 703-841-3868 to schedule a pick-up or drop-off time. Thanks!

Tax Deduction - The Arlington Diocese Office of Resettlement is a tax-exempt charity with 501(c)(3) status. As such, all contributions and items donated to the Arlington Diocese Office of Resettlement are tax deductible.  A donation receipt will be provided by the Resettlement Office.

Monetary Donations - The office always appreciates financial donations to support our ministry to refugees. All donations may be mailed to:

Catholic Diocese of Arlington Migration and Refugee Services

80 N. Glebe Rd.

Arlington, VA 22203

Car Donations - We are most grateful for donations of used cars which we pass on to refugees who use them to get to their jobs.

The following is a complete list of the items that we provide to families upon arrival. If your group is "adopting a family" you will be asked to provide all of the following items.

If you are interested in donating any of the following items yourself please call before bringing them to our office to make sure we have room in our storage unit. At times, when we have volunteers to help and when we have a need for the item, we can pick up your donated furniture. If we do not have room or volunteers at the time please do not be offended - our storage space is very limited. If our storage is full, we will be happy to refer you to another local organization that is in need of donations.
